State police still looking for woman who stole saddles at NYS Fairgrounds horse show

Saddle theft occured Sept. 15 during the Morgan Horse Show in Geddes

Troopers released a security camera photo of the suspect, as well as photos of the stolen saddles. They are asking the public's help in identifying the suspect in the security photo. She is described as a white woman in her 40s or 50s, with blonde hair wearing a white shirt, blue jacket with a hood hanging off the back and carrying an orange/yellow bag.

The first theft happened between 7 and 8 p.m. Thursday, September 15th in the DVM Barn at the fairgrounds in Geddes, state police said. The female suspect is believed to have entered the victim's tack room and stole a M. Toulouse English hunt seat all-purpose 17-inch youth saddle.

The second theft happened between 6 and 9 p.m. Thursday in a tack room in the Coliseum barn. In that case, a Freedman World Cup Super-Grip 22-inch saddle was stolen, troopers said.

State police are asking anyone with information about the saddle thefts or anyone who recognizes the woman in the photo to call state police Investigator Darren Forgea at (315) 638-8328.
